Privacy Policy

ParkPatch ("we", "us") operates the ParkPatch iOS app and park-patch.com, a marketplace where drivers book private parking spaces from hosts in Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect it, every way we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can access or delete it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect and why

  • Account details — name, email address, phone number and password (stored as a salted hash). Used to create and secure your account and to send booking-critical messages.
  • Vehicle details — make, model, registration plate and size class. Used to match you to spaces your car physically fits and to identify your vehicle to hosts during a booking.
  • Precise location — collected only while you use the app, and only with your permission, to show nearby spaces, guide you to your booked space and back to your car, and time expiry reminders. If you decline, you can search by typing an address instead.
  • Listing content (hosts) — address, photos, space dimensions (including LiDAR measurements), access notes and pricing. Published to drivers as part of your listing.
  • Booking and payment history — spaces booked, times, amounts paid and payout records. Used to operate the marketplace, provide receipts, resolve disputes and meet tax obligations. Card numbers are collected and processed by Stripe, never by us.
  • Messages and support requests — used to deliver host–driver communication and help you when something goes wrong.
  • Device data — push notification token, device model and app version, used to deliver notifications and fix crashes.

Third parties we share data with

We only share personal information with providers who protect it to at least the standard described in this policy:

  • Stripe (payment processing and host payouts) — see Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Supabase (database and authentication hosting).
  • Apple (push notifications, Maps routing, and Sign in with Apple if you use it).
  • Vercel (website hosting for park-patch.com).

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks. Hosts see only what they need to run a booking: your first name, vehicle description and plate, and arrival window — never your payment details or precise home address.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Records of completed transactions are retained for 7 years as required by Australian tax law, even after account deletion. Everything else is deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.

Deleting your account and withdrawing consent

You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time in the app: More → Settings → Delete Account. You can also email privacy@park-patch.com and we will complete deletion within 30 days. Location and notification permissions can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings without losing the ability to use the app. Full details: Delete your account.

Your rights

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing privacy@park-patch.com. If you believe we have mishandled your information you can complain to us first, and to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) if you are not satisfied with our response.
